CTRLZ POS+ user guide
Steps for the website, customer portal and local Windows application. Search a topic and open its instructions.
Current application workflows
Find Installation ID and move to a new PC
On the new PC, open Activation → Installation information. Copy Installation ID (not a token or Device UUID). In the Customer Portal → Transfer requests, select the old device and paste this ID with your reason. The administrator reviews and approves. Return to Activation and retry. The new activation completes the transfer. An old offline licence may remain usable only until its signed expiry.
Complete or resume first setup
After activation, complete Language → Business → Printing → Products. Enter the business name, country, TRY/SYP currency and business type. Contact and address are optional. Choose a Windows receipt printer or save PDFs for now, copies and optional auto-print; drawer opening stays disabled. Add products manually, import with preview, or skip. Save and continue persists completed steps; Finish setup records completion. A reopened app resumes incomplete setup. Add a logo later in Settings → Printing.
Restore a backup on the approved new PC
Create an encrypted backup on the old PC and keep its password securely. After approved activation on the new PC, open Backup, enter the backup password, select the .ctrlzb file, validate it and confirm Restore. The app creates an encrypted rescue first and reloads affected services. Business records/settings return; the new PC keeps its own installation, credentials and licence. Printer auto-send/drawer controls are disabled after restore until reviewed.
Licence warnings and subscription expiry
A verified offline licence allows work only until its signed validity date, capped by subscription expiry. Refresh online before the warning becomes expiry. After expiry or an explicit eligibility denial, new sales, returns, expenses and stock edits are blocked; existing records, reports, exports and backup remain accessible. Renew through the operator, sign in if requested and refresh/activate the same installation. An expired token alone does not erase an unexpired offline licence.
Review and install an update
Open Settings → Updates. Review version/build, release notes, package size and mandatory status. Choose when to download. The app checks size/SHA-256 and any supplied Windows package signature before offering installation. Installation is explicit, not automatic, and does not replace local business data. A mandatory version warning is distinct from licence expiry; check or download failure does not invalidate a valid offline licence.
Website · Account access
Create an account
When registration is enabled, open Register, enter account and business details, choose country/language and explicitly accept the displayed Terms and acknowledge Privacy. Those boxes are not preselected. If documents are not published yet, ask the operator to complete setup.
Verify email
Open the verification link sent to your account email before entering the portal. Check spam and use the resend action if needed. Local development mail uses the configured local mail transport, not a promised production mailbox.
Login and account details
Use Login with your email and password. In the portal, Account updates personal details and Business updates the primary business profile. Changing account credentials can revoke online tokens; never share your password.
Reset a forgotten password
Select Forgot password on Login, enter the account email and follow its time-limited reset link. Create and confirm a new password. A generic response protects whether an account exists.
Website · Subscription and device
Review a subscription
Open Subscription for the current plan, real status, start/expiry dates and remaining days. Billing lists administrator-recorded payments; it is not an online gateway. Contact CTRLZ-tech for renewal arrangements.
Review device and license
Device shows the one registered computer and its reported platform/version and last seen time. License Status shows issued/expiry information. Activation is performed from the Windows application, not by adding another device in the portal.
Request a transfer
Open Transfer Requests, describe the reason and proposed replacement installation, then submit. Track requested, under review, approved/rejected and completed states. Approval alone does not activate the new computer; its authenticated activation completes the transfer.
Portal downloads
Downloads lists published Windows releases with version, notes and requirements. If none is published, no package is available; ask support rather than using an unofficial installer. A website download does not activate a device.
Application · Installation and activation
Install and first launch
Use only an approved Windows package when available and follow its installer instructions. Developer builds need the complete Release bundle, not just the EXE. On first launch the app creates a secure installation identifier; do not delete or copy it to evade the device limit.
Login and activate
Connect to the configured server, sign in and activate this installation with an active subscription. The app stores tokens, not your password, and verifies the signed license locally. If another device is active, use the portal transfer workflow.
Business, language and currency setup
Edit the business profile in the web portal. In the Windows app, Settings selects language and transaction currency; Printing profiles contain receipt company details and an optional logo. There is no full local business-onboarding wizard or currency conversion: keep TRY and SYP histories separate.
Application · Products and inventory
Create or edit products
Use Products to search by name/barcode, filter categories and create/edit a product. Enter price, unit, tax mode and optional unique barcode. Piece quantities are integers; weight/volume support up to three decimals. Decide whether inventory is tracked.
Import a catalogue
Select CSV/XLSX from product import, preview rows, map columns and review validation errors before confirming. Import creates new products rather than silently updating existing barcodes. Current batches are bounded to 5 MiB and 5,000 rows.
Adjust stock and inspect movements
In Inventory, add or adjust tracked stock with a reason and inspect Movement History. The ledger preserves initial, manual and sale/reversal movements; negative tracked stock is prevented. Purchase finance entries do not add inventory: record stock separately.
Application · Sales, returns and daily finance
Complete a POS sale
Open POS, search or use a USB keyboard-emulation scanner, add products and review quantity/price/tax in the cart. Open Payment and confirm once. Checkout atomically records the invoice, payment and stock movement; repeated execution of the same checkout does not create another sale.
Choose a payment method
Record Cash, Card or Bank Transfer. Cash records the tendered amount and change and affects the drawer; card/bank records do not. These choices record payment locally; they do not charge a card or execute a bank transfer. One payment method is recorded per sale.
Invoices and cancellations
Open Invoices to search/paginate and inspect original item/price/tax snapshots. Cancellation requires confirmation/reason, preserves the original invoice and reverses only the remaining sale after prior returns. It is not deletion and cannot be applied twice.
Return items and settle a refund later
Start a return from the invoice, select remaining quantities and record the reason and paid-now refund. Partial/full returns use historical amounts and restore tracked stock. Return value and cash paid are separate; open the return details to pay an outstanding balance later without returning items twice.
Expenses, purchases and cash movements
Finance records purchase, expense, other income, cash deposit/withdrawal and counted cash correction with a reason. Use the actual cash/card/bank method; noncash does not enter the drawer. Purchases and stock additions are separate. This is operational finance, not profit/loss or general accounting.
Application · Printing, reports and recovery
Configure and print a receipt
Settings → Printing manages installed Windows printers and profiles: 58/80 mm, A4/A5, copies, language, company text and optional logo. Preview or Save As PDF from a saved invoice/return. Auto printing follows committed checkout; printer failure does not undo the sale. Retry can duplicate paper: review the warning and never repeat checkout to retry.
Cash drawer hardware
Drawer support is disabled unless a compatible manufacturer/driver profile is explicitly acknowledged. Validate the actual device first. Reprints, retries and noncash sales never pulse the drawer; do not send arbitrary device commands.
Reports, archives and export
Dashboard/Reports show sales, invoice count/average, returns, cancellations, net sales, taxes, top products and current low stock. Filter period/currency; do not combine TRY and SYP. Archives paginate sales, returns, finance and inventory. Export CSV/XLSX locally; profit/loss is not displayed.
Create an encrypted backup
Open Backup, choose creation and a strong password, then save the .ctrlzb file. It contains business data/settings/assets/templates, not API tokens, license, device credentials or installation identity. Store a second protected copy elsewhere; there is no automatic cloud backup. Keep the password safely: there is no recovery backdoor.
Restore business data
Choose a backup and enter its password. Wait for authentication, schema and integrity checks, then review and explicitly confirm replacement. An encrypted rescue of current data precedes the atomic restore. A valid mutation license is required. Device identity stays unchanged; review restored print settings before enabling automatic printing or drawer use. The current archive limit is about 128 MiB.
Application · Licensing, updates and problems
License warnings and read-only access
Review Subscription and refresh online before the signed license expires. An outage or token expiry alone does not erase a valid offline grant. Signed expiry or explicit eligibility denial blocks new sales, returns, expenses and inventory edits. Existing invoices, reports, exports and backups remain available; restore is a mutation and remains blocked.
Check and install an update
Settings → Updates shows installed/latest version, notes, size and mandatory status. Choose when to download. The app verifies size/checksum and applicable Windows signature before a separate explicit install confirmation. Unsigned EXE/MSI warns; no automatic installation/restart occurs. Make a backup first; never run a failed-verification file.
Troubleshoot safely and contact support
For no internet/server unavailable, keep working only within a valid offline license and retry online later. For revoked/expired subscription, review the portal and contact support. For printer failure, use the saved print job, not another checkout. For wrong backup password or corruption, keep current data and locate a valid copy. Send the visible error description through Contact, never passwords, tokens, private keys or confidential exports.
Before you start
Do I need internet all the time?
No. First login, activation and periodic license refresh need a server connection. Afterwards, a valid signed license permits local work without continuous internet for at most seven days, never beyond subscription expiry.
Where are sales and stock stored?
In the Windows application’s local SQLite database. V1 does not upload products, inventory, sales, returns, expenses or local invoices to the server, and does not provide cloud sync.
What happens when internet is unavailable?
Continue local operations while the cached signed license remains valid. Downloads and online account requests wait for connectivity. If the local license expires, new operational writes are blocked while history, reports, exports and backup remain accessible.
How many computers can I use?
Each V1 subscription covers one business and one active POS device. A second installation needs an approved transfer, not another simultaneous activation.
What happens after subscription expiry?
No license is valid past subscription expiry. The app becomes read-only for new sales, returns, stock edits and financial entries. Review the subscription screen and contact CTRLZ-tech about renewal. Existing local data is not deleted.
How do I move to a new computer?
Submit a transfer request in the customer portal and wait for review. After approval, activate the replacement installation. Move business data with a verified backup; credentials and installation identity are never restored from that backup.
How do I back up my business?
Open Backup in the Windows app, create a password-protected .ctrlzb archive and keep it outside the working device in a safe location. Keep the password separately: lost passwords cannot be recovered. Test restoration before relying on a copy.
Which languages are supported?
Arabic, Turkish and English, including Arabic right-to-left layouts in the website, portal and Windows application.
Does it support thermal printers?
The app supports 58/80 mm receipt profiles and Windows-installed printer queues, plus A4/A5 and PDF. Actual USB/network drivers, paper output and cash drawers require testing with your hardware; universal hardware compatibility is not guaranteed.
Can support see my sales on the server?
No POS business database is stored on the V1 server. The portal holds account, subscription, device, licensing, billing and release information, plus messages you submit. Do not attach confidential operational exports or credentials to support messages.
